Brother Terrance Sayers Old Erie Lodge #3

Terrance Sayers, 79, of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Hospice House.

Terrance was born February 9, 1946, in Warren, Ohio, a son to the late Richard and Lemoyne Cutlip Sayers.

Terrance was a 1965 graduate of Howland High School. He enlisted in the US Navy Reserve during his junior year. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from November 1965 until February 1967. Terrance served in Vietnam and was a brown water sailor.

Terrance re-enlisted in the US Navy Reserve in July 1983. Terrance served in the 20th Reserve Naval Mobile Construction Battalion, RNMCB 20, as an Equipment Operator. He served twenty years as an equipment operator, retiring in July of 1999.

He was employed by the Copperweld Steel Company as a Crane Operator. During his tenure with Copperweld Steel, Terrance served 14-years on the Safety Committee and 3-years as a Committeeman. He also participated in the High Twelve Club. He retired in 2001 after 32 years of employment.

Terrance was a Life Member of DAV Chapter 11, serving 5 terms as commander.

He was a life member of AMVETS Post 290 and served as commander until his death. He was a member of Howland American Legion Post 700, a member of Trumbull County Voiture 1182 of the 40 and 8, a life member of Youngstown Navy Seabees SWC, and a life member of Hubbard VFW Post 3767. Terrance was also a member of Old Erie #3 FAM, Valley of Youngstown AASR, the Ali Baba Gotto, and a life member of the NRA.

Terrance was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Tommy R. Sayers; and brother, Charles W. Sayers.

Terrance is survived by his sons, Charles Sayers, Richard Sayers, and James Sayers; grandsons Dylan Sayers and Tyler Sayers; and his great granddaughter, Ryan Sayers.

Terrance will be laid to rest at Western Reserve National Cemetery with full military honors.
